Everyone has a home!
This summer, we placed Jude and Loopy with a family in the East Bay, but it turned out not to be a good fit for Jude, who, it turns out, is not as great with kids as we thought. Although it was sad to separate them, Loopy is incredibly happy being the center of attention in a dog-loving home, and Jude has found a new home with a golden retriever friend. We are so happy.

Jude and Loopy have found a home with a loving family in the Bay Area. We are so grateful to everyone who put so much hard work into finding them a home.

A Doggie Vacation in Sonoma
Foster mom Valerie had to go out of town, so another wonderful foster mom has stepped in. For the next two weeks, Jude and Loopy will be staying with Marty in Sonoma, where they are getting to know her three dogs, her horses, and all the new smells that come with rural living. Marty has graciously offered to show them to anyone who is interested while they are there, and they'll be back in Oakland July 15. Contact lizascott at yahoo dot com to meet these great pups!

Meet Loopy and Jude
Jude: Shepherd Mix
Loopy and Jude are a bonded pair. Not only will they keep each other company, but they are adorable together: it only takes only one sight of the two wrestling (an obvious performance for your benefit – they’ll pause occasionally to make sure you are watching) or trotting back to you both holding the same floppy Frisbee in their mouths to make your heart melt. We hope to place them in the same home together.
More About Jude

Jude is the big sweetheart: gentle, mellow, and loving. He's a playful, outdoorsy type, in love with the tennis ball and Frisbee, always up for a game of tug or chase. On the other hand, he’s perfectly happy to sprawl on a rug or in the sun for hours, or to make a doggie oval on the porch and watch the world go by.
He is a vocal pup: he will use his charming waaooowool
–rooarrrwaaaooo language to try to convince you to play, to keep rubbing his tummy, or just to tell you he loves you.
More About Loopy
Loopy is a feisty, affectionate, five and a half year old old lab mix. Loopy is the dog who nearly falls over from wiggling with joy when you come home.
She loves playing with stuffed animals, and will toss them in the air and shake them for your amusement. In the right mood, she’ll snuggle-head butt, burrowing into you like a child being tickled.
For tummy rubs, she’s curl around ‘til her nose nearly touches her tail, and has been known to sleep with both front paws in the air. She also has an independent streak, and is always the first to greet new people, check out the new thing on the trail, and explore new situations. Like Jude, she loves the outdoors, but unlike Jude, she’ll take any opportunity to get in the water – chasing frogs, sticks, or just to plop in and swim.
Loopy and Jude At Home
Here are a couple videos that will introduce you to these lovely pups. You will get a sense of what they're like at home. While they spend most of their time lounging, they also love playing with stuffed animals.

After we took this clip, we wondered why Jude was trying to get us to look under the stereo, and we decided to take a peek. Of course: a tennis ball, wedged underneath.
Jude and Loopy love the outdoors and they are great with other dogs. Jude is naturally more ready to interact with other dogs, playful and puppylike. Loopy mostly just wants to hang out and explore with Jude, but she is happy to greet other dogs and occasionally join in a round of chase. Naturally, everyone wants to sniff everyone.

Here we are taking a walk. Both dogs were used to walking on trails, both with their owner and as part of a group with a dog walker. They're relatively new to urban leash walking, but they are catching on fast. Jude is completely relaxed; Loopy pulls a little bit, but Valerie, who is fostering them, has found that the retractable leash gives Loopy enough room to feel comfortable and the walker enough control.
One last toy-playing video:
These are fantastic animals who will make a joyous addition to your family. If you are interested in meeting them, contact home at last rescue by clicking here: http://www.homeatlastrescue.org/html/contact.html or lizascott at yahoo dot com.
